A capella Singing
Probably one of the first things that you will notice when you enter our auditorium is that there are absolutely no musical instruments used in our worship service. As there is no example of instrumental worship in the examples that we have of Christ's church during the time of the Apostles, we sing
A Capella, as instructed in Ephesians 5:19:
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, Eph 5:19, NIV.
Lord's Supper
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. I Corinthians 11:23-26, NIV Christ instituted the Lord's Supper as a memorial of his sacrifice on the cross. We have examples in the New Testament that the early Christians observed this memorial on a weekly basis on the first day of the week:
On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. Acts 20:7, NIV
